enlightened ones

 Enlightened ones is a series inspired by drawings I realized during a trip to India in December 2010. I was very impressed by the cows, sacred to the Hindu religion, the fact that such an imposing animal could move around absolutely free and that everyone treated them with respect whilst expecting nothing in return. With their slow and majestic rhythm they walk into shops and restaurants, take a rest in the middle of the frenetic traffic and then stroll over the hanging bridges above the holy river Ganges.

They seem to advise us regarding the huge error of human beings: the belief in a superiority over all other beings of the planet and their desire to dominate everything.
